The current situation regarding the outbreak of Swine Flu A(H1N1) is evolving rapidly. For the latest information see the WHO website at www.who.int/csr/disease/swineflu/en.
The University continues to operate as usual and any forthcoming events will take place as planned. If circumstances change, we will alert our students, staff and visitors and follow any appropriate actions. We continue to monitor the situation and the senior management team is receiving regular briefings.
The University is monitoring the threat of swine flu and the current status for management is business-as-usual.
Students are advised to register with a GP as soon as they arrive in Birmingham – this especially applies to first years but may also be relevant to other students who have moved for the new term or have not yet registered locally.
Any messages to update students on the University’s response to swine flu will be on the student portal alongside other useful messages – students are advised to keep an eye on my.bham.ac.uk.
If students are sick then the appropriate route to report this is via their School. Students living in halls should also let their hall mentor know.
