The Huxley Memorial Lecture: The Social Life of Bacteria
This lecture will be given by Professor Stuart West of the University of Oxford. Professor West is an evolutionary biologist whose main interest is the evolution of social behaviours, such as cooperation, altruism, spite, mutualism, parasite virulence and sex allocation. He uses a mixture of techniques including theory, experiment and across species comparative studies. His empirical work utilises a range of organisms, including bacteria, protozoa, insects, fish, birds and mammals
